The Story

I spent 20 years leading Technology Services, data intelligence and business transformation across NHS organisations. Thousands of staff. Hundreds of systems. And the same problem everywhere — good people working incredibly hard, but leadership couldn’t see what was actually happening on the ground.

When I moved into the private sector and started working with growing businesses, I expected it to be different. It wasn’t. A business with 15 staff and five disconnected systems has exactly the same visibility problem as an NHS trust with 15,000 staff and 200 systems. The scale changes. The pattern doesn’t.

I’m autistic. That’s not a footnote — it’s central to what I do. My brain is wired to see patterns in systems that other people have normalised. When you’ve lived with a problem long enough, you stop noticing it. I notice it immediately. I walk into a business, watch how the team works, and within hours I can see where the time and money is being lost. It’s not a skill I learned. It’s how I’m built.

I started William Peers Advisory because I kept seeing the same thing. Business owners who’d built something impressive but couldn’t see across it anymore. Teams that were working flat out but spending half their day being the human glue between systems that should talk to each other. MDs relying on spreadsheets that were already wrong by the time they opened them.

I fix that. I build the view they’ve never had — one dashboard, real-time, with priorities clear and nothing slipping through. Most of the business owners I work with say the same thing: they wish they’d done it years ago.
